IHS 2024 Fall Play 46 Plays for America's First Ladies
First Ladies Featured on the IHS Stage
How many American First Ladies can you name? We may have had 46 presidents but America has had many more first ladies. The IHS Drama Department is proud to announce its fall play to start the 2024-25 school year, 46 Plays for America’s First Ladies. 46 Plays… is a collaboration of five different contemporary playwrights: Genevera Callo-Bayiates, Chloe Johnston, Andy Bayites, Bilal Dardai, and Sharon Green. This meta-theatrical play hinges between the silly and the sad as the audience is introduced to each first lady: Martha Washington to Jill Biden and every lady in between. This play illustrates American history from the perspective of the women who stood behind each President of the United States.
Over one hundred characters, including each first lady, will be portrayed by our talented cast of actors. Cast members include seniors, Emily McKelvy, Jordie Rose, and Lily Speights; juniors, Cricket Baunoch, Maddie Jablunovsky, Emma Runge, Justin Webber, and Audrey Yang; sophomores, Sydney Adamsky and Kate McKelvy; and freshmen, Teagan Baunoch, Natalie Collinger, Freddie Knepper, Striker Sparks, Elianna Thomas and Jayden Webber.
The crew includes seniors Aubrey Helman (assistant stage manager), Avrey Jordan (stage manager), Ramona Lewis (wardrobe Head), and Madison Tuazon (Fly Deck); juniors Jackson Matty (soundboard operator), and Avery Orr (projection operator), and sophomores Lauren Watkins (projection operator) and Gabriel Wilhelm (light board operator), and freshmen set painters Alexis Dunne, Lexi Nielsen, Addy Appleby, and Ava Hutchinson.
46 Plays for America’s First Ladies will take place on November 15th and 16th at 7 pm. Tickets can be purchased at https://ihs.booktix.com/. Want to see behind-the-scenes fun and watch the play come alive? Follow the drama department at @indianashdrama.
