SEASON INFORMATION 

 

REHEARSALS 

 

  • All rehearsals are MANDATORY – Student attendance is extremely important to success! 
  • Staff and students may schedule a small sectional at a time to be determined. 
  • Any conflict will need to be communicated well in advance to Mr. Olear via parents only
  • Students may not sign themselves out, excuse themselves from events, or cancel suddenly
  • Time is valuable – we pride ourselves being on time - every time! 

 

GAMES 

 

  • Students will have a designated area to sit at each game.   
  • Snacks and water will be provided to the students by the boosters. 
  • External food (including the concession stand) is not permitted!   
  • Students will be expected to play in the stands, perform the halftime show, and support the football team throughout the game.   
  • Students will be expected to positively represent the school, the marching band, and themselves. 

 

UNIFORMS & EQUIPMENT 

 

  • Every student will be issued a marching band uniform for the duration of the season. 
  • Students will also have access to a cold weather raincoat and a warm weather raincoat. 
  • Show shirts can play the role of a hot weather uniform, or as part of the uniform underneath the marching band coats.  Please have it for every event!   
  • BLACK SOCKS are also part of the uniform.  Other colors look hideous with our all black uniforms! 
  • Expensive equipment (personal or school-owned) is used every time we meet.   We expect everyone to treat these items with respect and notify the staff of any mistreatment of any equipment.  Additionally, please notify the staff of any necessary repairs due to normal use! 
  • STUDENTS are ultimately responsible for any uniform or equipment used. 

 

 

FESTIVALS & PARADES 

 

  • We love supporting our community through 3 local parades – IUP Homecoming Parade, Veterans Day Parade, and the “It’s A Wonderful Life” Parade.  
  • We also participate in Band Night at the Indiana County Fair, and our own Indiana Bandfest!  More information will be given closer to the event. 
  • Students taking the SAT should avoid scheduling on the day of the IUP Homecoming Parade!
